I’m not a political person. I’m not much interested in what’s going on in Washington or Indianapolis. When I do pay attention I’m consistently disappointed by the greed and the lack of ability of our elected representatives.
As an exemplar of the modern politician, I always thought Sarah Palin was, to use the immortal words of Michael Bolton in the movie Office Space, an ass clown. There’s nothing wrong with that, we have no shortage of ass clowns in this world, just visit your neighborhood bar to find an abundance of them.
It did disturb me though that so many people, especially John McCain, took Sarah Palin seriously. According to that mouthpiece of the liberal left, the Washington Post, 39% of voters would seriously consider voting for her for president in 2012.
Really? 39%? According to answers.com 131,257,238 people voted in 2008. 39% of 131,257,238 is 51,190,323. Fifty one million people seriously consider Sarah Palin to be a reasonable choice to be president? That makes me want lock the doors, pull down the blinds (wait, we don’t have blinds) and hide under the blankets.
I have to say, like Sarah Palin, I do like my guns. I never shoot at anything except targets, but occasionally I do use them to scare away coyotes. I’m not much of a shot, if I ever hit a coyote it would be by accident. Especially since I’m usually blazing away at them with my S&W .357 at a range of a hundred yards or more.
Finally to the point:
With events of January 08, 2011 in Arizona, does anyone still consider Sarah Palin to be an amusing but ultimately irrelevant ass clown? Does anyone still seriously consider Sarah Palin to be a reasonable candidate to be President?
I don’t.
