{"id":31,"date":"2007-11-11T18:52:58","date_gmt":"2007-11-11T23:52:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chuckzumbrun.net\/?p=31"},"modified":"2008-02-22T20:40:15","modified_gmt":"2008-02-23T01:40:15","slug":"vigneto","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chuckzumbrun.net\/?p=31","title":{"rendered":"Vigneto"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We had dinner at Vigneto the other night.\u00a0 It&#8217;s in the former Spoons space next to Mitchell Books in Covington Plaza.\u00a0 It was a bit disappointing.\u00a0\u00a0 Vigneto is run by Lisa Williams and Chuck Kaiser, formerly of Joseph Decuis, so we had high expectations on our visit.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The space is nicely decorated, but if you sit next to the windows wear a jacket, the blowers move\u00a0a lot a air.<\/p>\n<p>The waiter didn&#8217;t seem familar with the menu at all, but in all fairness, the menu was a bit confusing.\u00a0 For example, at the end of the meal the dessert wine list mentioned under the &#8220;Wines by the glass&#8221; section an ice wine.\u00a0 I thought that would be nice, so I ordered one.\u00a0 A bit later the waiter came back and said that was a half-bottle, not a glass.\u00a0 Well, then, why is it listed in the by the glass section?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The food was hit and miss.\u00a0 Debbie ordered lemon and black pepper risotto for one of her plates and it was cooked until the rice formed a paste and even worse was missing its black pepper.\u00a0 I had some pate that was ok, and we had a salad with pomegranate that was one of the best things I&#8217;ve ever eaten, and the polenta parmesan fries were sublime.\u00a0\u00a0 So pretty uneven, I expected better.\u00a0 It was a Tuesday night, and the place was packed, so I&#8217;d give them the benefit of the doubt and try dinner there again some day.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, if you&#8217;re looking for a place to have a glass of wine and a snack, it&#8217;d be great.\u00a0 They mention the enoteca influence, that may be a hard sell in Fort Wayne, but that seems like what they are, more than a place for dinner.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We had dinner at Vigneto the other night.\u00a0 It&#8217;s in [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-31","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-restaurants"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/chuckzumbrun.net\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/31","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/chuckzumbrun.net\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/chuckzumbrun.net\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/chuckzumbrun.net\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/chuckzumbrun.net\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=31"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/chuckzumbrun.net\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/31\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/chuckzumbrun.net\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=31"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/chuckzumbrun.net\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=31"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/chuckzumbrun.net\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=31"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
