Debbie made a sweet potato pie from white sweet potatoes we got from Jeff Rosswurm.  It smells great!  But I have serious reservations about using crumbled burnt peanuts for the topping.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1899\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1899\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/chuckzumbrun.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/DSCN2221.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/chuckzumbrun.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/DSCN2221-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"DSCN2221\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1899\" srcset=\"https:\/\/chuckzumbrun.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/DSCN2221-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/chuckzumbrun.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/DSCN2221-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/chuckzumbrun.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/DSCN2221.jpg 1296w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1899\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Pie Topping?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>I expressed my concerns about these to Debbie and she told me to &#8220;shut up.&#8221;  That hardly seems in the Thanksgiving spirit.<\/p>\n<p>I made gingered cranberry sauce using a recipe from my favorite food blogger <a href=\"http:\/\/www.closetcooking.com\/2010\/10\/gingered-cranberry-sauce.html\">Closet Cooking.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The stuffing is ready go, just regular bread stuffing.  I was happy to have turkey stock I&#8217;d canned from the last time we <a href=\"http:\/\/chuckzumbrun.net\/?p=645\">cooked turkey<\/a> to use in the stuffing.<\/p>\n<p>In a few minutes here I&#8217;ll get the oven preheating for our 2011 turkey.  Since it&#8217;s just Debbie and me this year, we&#8217;re cooking a 5 pound bone-in turkey breast.  No getting up at 2:30 a.m. to start the turkey!<\/p>\n<p>The Macy&#8217;s parade is on the TV, the house smells like home, the crops are harvested and safely stored away.
