If it looks dark in the picture, well, that&#8217;s because it is dark in person.  The darker honey is the richer in flavor it&#8217;s supposed to be. I was beginning to question the wisdom of this effort.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1249\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1249\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/chuckzumbrun.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/DSCN1197.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/chuckzumbrun.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/DSCN1197-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"DSCN1197\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-1249\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1249\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Beeswax<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>But after two strainings and letting it harden, it&#8217;s not looking too bad.  I think it needs to be melted and strained once more to get the rest of the impurities out.<\/p>\n<p>Before I do that, I think I&#8217;ll get a double boiler and strainer just for this task.  I ended up having to boil a big pot of water and repeatedly dip and scrub to get our kitchen utensils clean.  Then I had to scrub a haze of wax from the pan I used to boil them.<\/p>\n<p>Nothing to do now but kick back and enjoy the fruits of my (and the bees) labor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I finished processing my honey harvest today.
