This has been the year for unusual winter formations.
The crooked icicles, when the wind blew first from the north and then from the south. | |
Then the horizontal icicles. Sitting as we do, proud atop Skunk Hill, we get some good winds from the west. | |
It’s hard to tell from this picture but this icicle is over 5 feet long, and is hanging over the door so we had to duck around it. | |
Snow slid off the roof in firm slabs and made what looks like an abandoned cemetery off the porch. | |
I’m tempted to go out and incise names on them. |
After being minus 12 on Thursday, it’s 57 degrees warmer today on Sunday. Spring’s a-coming!
