Tales from Skunk Hill

Chickens on the Porch

Sung to the tune of  “Riders on the Storm”

Chickens on the porch
Chickens on the porch
Into this nest they’re born
Into this coop they’re thrown
Like a hen without a comb
A rooster all alone
Chickens on the porch

There’s a chicken on the road
The cars coming on are slowed
Take a long holiday
Let your chickens lay
If ya give this chook a ride
Your eggs you will not fry
Chicken on the road, yeah

Girl ya gotta baste your hen
Girl ya gotta baste your hen
Take her by the hand
Cook her in a pan
The lunch on you depends
Leftovers never end
Gotta baste your hen, yeah

Cluck!

Chickens on the porch
Chickens on the porch
Into this nest they’re born
Into this coop they’re thrown
Like a hen without a comb
A rooster all alone
Chickens on the porch

Chickens on the porch
Chickens on the porch
Chickens on the porch
Chickens on the porch
Chickens on the porch

While I may be Morrison-esque handsome 😉 I have less than zero musical ability.
